National Impacts Database

FAST FACTS

  • Impact statements are submitted directly by university faculty and staff, including communicators, Extension and Experiment Station directors, reporting and evaluation staff, government affairs staff, and more. To find out your institution's inputters or add/remove an inputter, please email agcomms@aplu.org.
    • We encourage communicators to be involved in the process of creating statements, even if you are not the final inputter. During the process, please refer to these Impact Writing Tips.

  • Impact statements are used throughout the year by APLU, NIFA, and others for blog posts, social media campaigns, talking points and briefs for leadership, and more. Each year, a team of LGU communicators creates educational materials highlighting exemplary impact statements.

  • Impact statements fulfill state and federal reporting needs, and show public accountability for use of federal, state, and other funds.
