The Tuscan Village Farm is an urban farm created by and for the local youth in Arizona with support from the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension. The farm offers a common space where young people of all backgrounds can enjoy the outdoors and physical exercise, while learning about agricultural practices such as crop rotation, preparing healthy foods, and food budgeting.
Through the engagement of sustainable agricultural practices, this unique program is leaving an impact, connecting children to healthier food systems and to their local communities by serving over 20,000 children in the region.
The program is Michelle Obama-approved. Read more about it here.
